I'm so excited and very honored to be invited to perform the Horovitz Sonatina at the International Clarinet Association's 2024 ClarinetFest in Dublin, Ireland in July. Slán!
I am excited to announce that I recently became the Executive Director of Daraja Music Initiative (DMI). DMI is a non-profit organization that teaches clarinet and violin to students at Majengo Primary School in Moshi, Tanzania, as well as aid conservation efforts for the African Blackwood tree. Both clarinets and the fingerboards of the violin are made from the wood of the African Blackwood tree, which unfortunately is commercially endangered. DMI uniquely bridges music education and conservation education.

I'm honored and delighted to be featured on Sugar Hill Salon's debut live-stream concert. Sugar Hill Salon Chamber Music Series was created by Alex Davis to largely showcase BIPOC performers and composers of underrepresented backgrounds. I am so glad that Sugar Hill Salon is creating a space to present incredible and diverse artists and their art.
I was recently a guest on the Concierge Chat Podcast—alongside hosts Michael Romei and Trish Sanborn, and violinist, Ginny Luke. We discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting the music industry. My biggest take away is that the entire world is dealing with this crisis, and that music can be our universal language to communicate hope, inspiration, and love. We're all in this together! And “if music be the food of love, play on!”
I am sad to announce that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all concerts and performances scheduled for the remainder of the 2019-20 season have been canceled. Musicians around the world are dealing with this. While this is inconvenient in the short term, let us think about the long term goal. Please be safe and stay healthy. We’re all in this together.
I am elated to announce that I have been appointed to the faculty of Vassar College as Adjunct Artist in Music, Clarinet. Vassar College is a small, private, liberal arts college in Poughkeepsie, NY. I am happy to announce that I will be a new clarinet faculty member at Special Music School. Special Music School is a NYC public [magnet] school, and is the only K-12 music specialized school in New York City. I will have an incoming kindergarten and 1st grade student. They will begin on recorder, then progressing from an Eb clarinet, to C clarinet, and finally reaching a Bb clarinet. I look forward to this amazing teaching opportunity, working with incredible young music students.
I feel extremely honored to have been asked to be part of MNN Studio's (NYC) documentary series, Best and Brightest. This documentary basically recalls my entire musical career path and recounts the lessons I have learned along the way. It is definitely a nice documentation of my life in music.
I'm ecstatic to be a founding member of Trio 212, a NYC-based reed trio. I'm joined by my esteemed colleagues Mark Sophia (oboe) and Joshua Hodge (bassoon). Trio212, is part of a larger music initiative called The Queertet Project. The Queertet Project will concertize performances, collaborating with queer-identifying performers, composers, choreographers, and other artists. Additional long term goals include doing social advocacy and educational outreach work for at-risk LGBTQ populations.
Finally, I have a new and updated website! I'm so excited to have my very own platform to showcase myself and my music. I plan to update my schedule and share any new projects. Stay tuned for more...
